New Zealand Certificate in Christian Ministry (Level 4)

The NZ Certificate in Christian Ministry (Christian Studies Strand) (Level 4), will provide graduates with biblical and theoretical knowledge including related skills that can be applied through a range of Christian ministries and Christian-based organisations.

The programme focuses on Christian leaders and volunteers and those starting their vocational ordination journey. It is also suitable for personal faith learners. 

Graduates of this programme will gain a qualification which recognises their general knowledge of biblical principles and practical understanding of Christian ministry.

This programme qualifies individuals with theoretical knowledge and skills within Christian Ministry. Graduates will be able to integrate and apply foundational knowledge of selected biblical principles and Christian beliefs to their community contexts and ministry settings. Graduates will be able to apply these principles to that of their own faith journey and to those of others. 

The course will start on the 22nd of July 2026.

PROGRAMME DELIVERY

This two-year blended program combines eight face-to-face block courses in Hamilton (four per year) with online learning between the block courses.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WILL YOU GET

New Zealand Certificate in Christian Ministry (Level 4)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • For students aged 18+
  • Must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • A minimum qualification of NCEA Level 3 is preferred but not essential
  • May be required to demonstrate that they have computer literacy sufficient to use the applications, communication and collaboration technologies required throughout the programme
  • Required to produce two current character references, and an essay outlining their journey of faith
  • Required to participate in an interview process

Our Christian Ministry programme requires you to bring your own device (BYOD) for study at Vision College.
Below are the minimum specifications required for this programme, anything less than this will not open the programmes required. (*as from 2020 anything less than Windows 10 cannot be used in Vision’s system)
